Industrial Wastewater Services
I work with environmental processes to resolve problems associated with industrial water, wastewater treatment systems, and groundwater remediation. This includes pre-engineering and feasibility studies to construction, operator training, operations management, process troubleshooting and redesign, process optimization, and instrumentation and control.

Soil Gas Investigations – Approach
Selected Depth of Soil Gas Probes for Environmental Investigations (5 and 15 feet bgs)The soil gas probes at the site will have the purpose of to investigating the presence of VOCs in shallow soil, and (2) to monitor the subsurface for vacuum. We selected a A probe at approximately 15-feet with the intent of closely…

Soil Vapor Extraction | Technology Description
Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) is an in situ remediation technology designed to remediate soils impacted with volatile organic compounds (VOCs) including gasoline, and chloroethenes. This technology works by extracting soil vapor at a high vacuum using subsurface wells, then treating the soil vapor prior to discharge.

Dual-Phase Extraction System: Permitting, Design, Construction, and Operation | Industrial Redevelopment Berkeley, CA
The soil and groundwater at a former industrial building located in Berkeley, California were affected with trichloroethene and gasoline. A dual-phase extraction system was permitted, designed, and constructed for site remediation. The site underwent remediation while the developer remodeled and repurposed nearly 500,000 square feet for commercial, retail, office, and light industrial uses.

Dual-Phase Extraction (DPE) | Technology Description
Dual-Phase Extraction (DPE) is a remediation technology used to remediate soils and groundwater affected with volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This technology works by extracting soil vapor and groundwater from the subsurface, then treating the vapors and water prior to discharge.

Air Sparge | Technology Description
Air sparge is an in situ groundwater remediation technology were air is injected into the groundwater to increase dissolved oxygen. Air sparge is used to remediate impacted groundwater with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), most commonly gasoline range organics.

Technical Assistance for CERCLA Sites
Technical support was provided to two groundwater operating units. The operating units are designed to remediate the groundwater impacted with VOCs at two CERCLA sites.

Lubricant Oil Spill Response, South Gate, California
An emergency cleanup response was executed after 7,000 gallons of lubricant oil were released. The release occurred as a result of railroad tank car colliding with a road tanker. The release affected soils in the vicinity of the incident, and impacted a nearby storm drain.

Feasibility Study for Management of Waste Activated Sludge, Manitoba, Canada
A food processor was experiencing low hydraulic residence times at one of their anaerobic digesters during the discharge of waste activated sludge. a feasibility study identified that the most cost-effective option was to thicken and anaerobically treat thickened waste activated sludge (TWAS) in a new digester designed specifically for that purpose.

Anaerobic Slop Management System, Central America
A system for anaerobic digestion of slops, water treatment, and biogas utilization was designed to meet regulations, displace fuel-oil, and cut greenhouse gases at a Central American rum distillery.
